Nominations for BBQ Person of the Year 2012

With the overwhelming sucess of last years’ Barbecue Person of the Year, we are going to be hosting again the Barbecue Person of the Year contest.

This is the time for YOU fans of the barbecue and grilling world to voice your opinion on who you think made a positive impact on the barbecue community this past year.  Our BBQ person of the year has already become one of the most coveted barbecue awards in the barbecue community. Last year we had over 3,000 people vote and hopefully this year we can break this record.

This year we are going to be doing this a bit different, we have already filled 6 spots, they included:

Melissa Cookston – Grand Champion of Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest; Memphis (May 17-19)

Johnny Trigg - The Kingsford BBQ Pitmasters Grand Champion, revealed on-air on Destination America (July 11)

Big Poppa Smokers - American Royal World Series of Barbecue Open Contest; Kansas City, Mo. (Oct. 4-7)

Pig Skin BBQ - Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue; Lynchburg, Tenn. (Oct. 27 -28)

3 Eyz BBQ - the 2012 Sam’s Club® KCBS Team of the Year 

The Winner of the First Ever Kingsford Invitational 

We are now looking for the remaining nominee’s. (We want to have a total of 2o nominees) Nominees can include: A BBQ Pitmaster, restaurateur , sauce and or rub maker, blog writer, radio host, a BBQ organization, anyone basically who YOU think has had a positive impact this past year in the BBQ world.

Fill out the following form to nominate who YOU think should be BBQ Person of the Year for 2012. In this form you must include:

• contact information for the nominee (which should include: Facebook and or Twitter handle)
• your reason why YOU think this person/organization has had a positive impact this past year in the BBQ world.

We will be posting the nominee’s on Friday, November 23, 2012 at http://www.grillingwithrich.com/bbq-person-of-the-year-2012.  Voting will start on Monday, November 26, 2012 and will end on January 1, 2013 12:00AMEST. The Winner who has the most votes on January 1st 2013 will be the BBQ Person of the Year!
